Well explained and working code.

An easy to read and follow. The code works! and I was able to have a voice assistant in a very short time. You can ask to search wikipedia, play music, get the weather, conversations and more. Tanay explains the code line by line so you know what is happening and can expand it once you understand how it is constructed. A must get if you are doing anything in Raspberry pi that needs voice.

Positively Life Changing...

Steve Gilliland does an excellent job of identifying the subtleness of negativity in our loves. Negativity is rampant and every one has the opportunity to identify where it is, what it looks like and how to decide to remove it from our lives. This book reminded me of many relationships in life from work, friends as well as lost leaders. The concepts of this book are fundamental but life changing. Once you have analyzed your personal situation, it is up to you to decide those trying to get your goat. After reading this, I immediately passed it along to my adult daughter who was dealing with some major negatives in her life. She has already taken action and is making very positive changes. Thanks Steve for a great view of life and the challenges that surround us!!

Great read! Ordered it in prep for seeing the author speak at the SHRM Conference in Vegas. Definitely helped frame his talk, but I wouldn't have been completely lost without it. Recommend for all HR professionals and managers toxic employees or colleagues.

Loved this book. It is easy reading. I read the whole book in three 45 minute morning sessions at the gym while doing the elliptical stepper then went back and highlighted significant thoughts that were helpful to me on the kindle reader app on my iPad. Lots of practical illustrations and analogies that are very helpful for coaches, mentors, pastors, teaches, counselors and people who deal with people and helping them along in life. Recommended to two other friends. Since I have read it, no one has gotten my goat or pushed my buttons in the past two weeks. He teaches you to hide them by dealing with them and learning to slowly eliminate them. What a difference it has made in just two weeks.

Nice book, I have been studying choy lay fut kung fu for about 4 months and this was a great primer before my first class. Made me understand so I did not have to ask so many questions, and I truly think it accelerated my learning!

Paul Eng has written a great introductory book to kungfu. His tone is very encouraging and his writing is informative but never dry. The guy loves kungfu and that's apparent from the first paragraph. He's been teaching kungfu snce 1960 and has taught tai chi chuan at the Kaiser Hospital Physical Therapy Department as well as served as Chief Instructor of the "Red Catcher" Combat Ranger training camp in Viet Nam during the war. Know thy basics

Well written and illustrated for understanding the basics of gung fu. Sometimes in class you may not pick up the subtle differences in foot position or receive conflicting advice on what the proper stance is. This book will help in sorting out the basics. The author also does a good job of referring the reader back to their instructor when a position is interpreted differently by various styles.

Not Bad!

As someone who has a bachelors degree in psychology, there's actually kind of an academic ambiguity surrounding "Forensic Psychology" that is unfortunately inaccurately informed by movies and pop culture. Outside of the academy I have been exposed to a lot of different books specifically on the topics of Criminal Psychology and Forensic Psychology, and I especially like this one for the following reasons.

* This book is an easy read. It is easily navigated and can be totally completed in two days (tops).

* Each Chapter ends with references that can be accessed for further, more comprehensive reading on any topic.

* The book is surprisingly thorough and will give the reader a basic operational knowledge of the topics listed.

* The research is accurate. I did a significant amount of research in university on stuff like eyewitness testimony, profiling, and pedophilia. There is a lot of stuff floating around out there on these topics, and what I have read in the book was very consistent with what I had encountered in my research (some of it was actually more informative).

Obviously it's part of the "Beginner's Guides" series, but I think it almost perfectly executes its function. One of the few 5 star ratings I have ever given - the thing is literally worth every penny if this is what you're looking for.

Good introduction to many concepts and thought provoking in regard to the strategies used. It is beneficial to observe the historical and cultural perspectives also. As a person new to the subject it was tailored perfectly for easy comprehension.

Nothing more than a subset of online API docs

Really had high hopes for this title, after examining the table of contents. But the contents are bare bones, and it appeared to me, to be a partial subset of the online API documentation for jQuery and some relevant plugins. Yes, there is a rudimentary chapter on Javascript, but it adds nothing to the knowledge store of an already experienced developer, and would be totally insufficient (unlike Crockford's *Javascript: The Good Parts*, which the chapter specifically references).

Furthermore, there are some major print annoyances -- such as every code listing includes a large text and graphic image indicating code blurb is available for download at wrox.com. Was that really necessary? Could not that have been specified in the book introduction/prefix, where to download the example code? And most of the examples were so simple and basic, even more remedial than the online docs at [...] (or at any of the plugin topics like jQuery templates, QUnit, etc....).

I really feel ripped off of $20-30 for purchasing this title, cannot recall the exact amount I paid on the Amazon order...

More of an Introduction to jQuery

Found this book more than an introduction to jQUERY than anything else. It does cover a wide range of content, but it does not seem to go into depth as much as I would've liked. I think this book would be a fine choice for someone who doesn't have a great deal of knowledge or experience with jQuery.
Some reviewers have noted that there is a wealth of information about jQuery online and someone looking at a particular area of jQuery would probably be better served going online. The book strength lies in that it offers a wealth of information that the reader may not have thought about before. For me it was chapter 14 - "Unit Testing with Qunit".
I would give this book between three stars and four stars because of the lack of depth on the subject matters.
I would recommend this book for someone who is looking for a good introduction into jQuery before they move on to all the online resources that are available.

There are better resources online and this book has little to offer a person who actually knows jQuery and is looking for an advanced resource to better their skills.

If you haven't worked with jQuery before then you will benefit from reading this book but if you have, save your money and do your research online.

I would have rated this book higher but I feel there are too many five star reviews so I'm rating it one star.

Essential Book for Head and Neck

It is extremely helpful for head and neck anatomy in dental school. It has all pertinent information and details summarized in a easy to read and highly organized manner. The images are smaller than I would like, but I can read the text just fine. I originally bought the Kindle version and the pictures were very blurry, so compared to that the book version is much better!

One of my favorite books, I teach on the subject and LOVE this text. I do wish there were different photos in it at times and there are some things missing but compared to what is available on the subject, this is in my top four on my shelf.

For Dentists...or Med Students in Head and Neck Anatomy Unit

This book saved my life. We had some very difficult to understand lectures and let's just say I somewhat taught myself parts of head and neck anatomy. Without this book I would have been lost. Very concise and exactly what you're learning in lecture. I never prep for lectures, but reading this beforehand gave me an edge and a clue as to what was going on. Great buy and worth the money.
