I would not recommend this to any of my clients because this book ...

Speaking as a Marriage and Family Therapist, and a Christian, this book is absolutely horrendous. Dr. Leman presents his ideas in an archaic notion that perpetuates stereotypical gender roles. I would not recommend this to any of my clients because this book can be very shameful, especially within the first few chapters, and would be very damaging to sexual abuse survivors. There is absolutely nothing in this book that is of therapeutic value. This book was actually assigned in my Master's level Sexual Therapy course just to prove that there is some horrible literature out there regarding sexual issues. I believe this book could be improved if it could be revised and co-authored with a female. When comparing chapters, there were zero Biblical references included in the For Men Only chapter; however the For Women Only chapter contained lots of Biblical passages to persuade women into keeping their men happy at whatever cost. I understand this was written for the layperson, however, I have to question his credibility when he calls a penis Mr. Happy. If wanting an informative book to empower your sex life, please look elsewhere!

I've read plenty of books on the marriage bed before, but this is by far my favorite!
If I could onlyou recommend one book to a couple, married already or heading to the altar- THIS book would be it#
This book really hits on the mental aspect of sex and the marraige relationship, how every goes full circle, always leads back to how things are going in the marriage bed.
The author is friendly, funny, and frank. He knows his stuff and how to clearly relay it. From dealing with baggage to technique- this book has it all.

Excellent Book

What an outstanding book! Dr. Leman's practical advice, humorous illustrations and knowledge of the male and female psyche is truly amazing. This book has opened my eyes to see marital sex, as God intended it, in a whole new light. My marriage and sex life has been both enriched and invigorated. Thank you and God bless.
