Alyce Parsons, AICI, president of Universal Style and Associates, is and award-winning image consultant, author, trainer, speaker, developer of image consulting systems and a lifetime certified community college instructor. In addition to authoring What's My Style, Alyce has co-authored two books on Universal Style - Dress for Who You Are and What You Want, and created P.A.S.S. a proportion analysis, style selection system. She trains image consultants around the world. She has appeared on numerous radio and television programs and is featured in a national training video.

Great help in my personal and professional life!

Alyce Parsons has really captured the heart of what style is all about. This book has really helped me to understand what styles suit me best, both in my personal life and in my career. The assessment tools provided really helped me to discover my look. Several of my co-workers have commented on how well put together I am, and "What's My Style" has really helped me to acheive a professional look that still reflects who I am. This is a book that I will continue to refer to as I move through different stages of my life.

Must have for anyone who looks to dress well

If you are not sure or just do not have a clue as to how to dress yourself, YOU HAVE TO GET THIS!! Do not let the cover fool you, I know it is outdated, but the information inside is not. IT will help a ton in buying the right clothes for your body, but also for your personality and show you how to put things together so you look polished. I know that image consultants have this book, all their principles mimic everything that is written in here. A must have for everyone!!
This book is a great book to understand and enter into the market. I bought the whole series and read them from cover to cover. This is not for the advanced student, but the beginner.
I also think that fashion designers should have a thorough understanding of color theory, which is really not taught that much or well. It is also a very complex subject to learn and understand.
BUT!!!!!

FOR ANYONE who wants to know about Color Theory this test breaks it down so that ANYONE can understand this subject. I learned more about color theory in this book than all others put together because I now "Understand" the concept.
While this book is for the textile artist, ALL artists should get it and is also has cut outs to use when choosing your colour palette whether it be for Fashion Design or Art.
This book is a MUST HAVE!!!!

If you are a Man don't buy it!

Unfortunatly in it's description it does not state that is targeted to women... all the drawings, clothes and etc... are for women... yes you can grasp the concepts but it would be better to have exemples and descriptions intended to men as well.
